Take a few minutes and watch this inspiring video about Jonathan Harris. He's kept rich, beautiful journals throughout his life, and shares some what he recorded during his travels to Vietnam and Burma. He goes on to describe We Feel Fine, which I played with a bit. It's "a global study of human emotion using large-scale blog analysis", which I didn't really get at first glance. Hearing his explanation makes me certain I'll be wasting spending quite a bit of time exploring. From there he goes on to discuss his latest project, Universe, which is delightfully esoteric, beautiful, and somewhat abstract study of modern mythology. There's no timer on the video, but it's actually pretty short. This guy has presented at TED, which makes me want to attend that conference even more. What a great thinker!
